Fr. Joseph Tawdross Gorgi was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1982. He is a graduate of the Theological Seminary in Alexandria and worked as a pharmacist before his consecration. He came to the United States in 2011. He has been serving at St. John Coptic Orthodox Church as a deacon and Sunday School coordinator as well as at the Arabic Youth Meetings. In Egypt, he served at St. George Church Abuqir teaching hymns, Coptic and Sunday School.
He was ordained presbyter by His Eminence Metropolitan Serapion along with their Graces Bishop Suriel, Bishop Abraham and Bishop Kyrillos on February 27, 2022 to serve St. John Coptic Orthodox Church in Covina, California.
